Michigan has their own set of hoops for you to jump through. This is kind of important, if you are unclear about the process a call to financial aid may be in order.

Do you remember how soon you hears whether or not you were approved for the loan after you applied?

I don't remember. You will not be denied for grad plus loans, unless you've defaulted on existing loans or destroyed your credit in truly spectacular fashion.

Has anybody/has everybody applied for their Grad PLUS loans yet? On the financial aid forum the sense I was getting was that we should wait for our school to tell us it's time to apply and give us any special instructions we might need. I just started to get nervous that I shouldn't be waiting for that, so I logged on to the Grad PLUS loan application site, but they also say to get instructions from our school because the school might have a direct application set up. So, are most people waiting or moving ahead?

I received an email a few weeks ago at my Mich email. Did you check that?

And yeah, the instructions are kind of Mich specific, oddly enough. There are some steps you have to do before you apply on the PLUS site.

Whoop whoop, TLS comes through again! I've been trying to check my michigan email through Wolverine Access for a while, then failing (because that's not where it is), then shrugging and giving up. I just found the right place to access it and yeah, I've got that email from three weeks ago in there... Man I would have been screwed otherwise. Maybe law school isn't for me after all

Good to know. I was a little worried because I don't really have much of a credit history to speak of, having not taken out any student loans for undergrad, never having bought a car or house, and never having had a credit card (I know it's weird).

I am so sad that I never stayed in Michigan. I heard that they had the best Law Schools there. I was not able to stay there unfortunately. Don't hate me cause I am jealous. I cannot help it.

I never remembered to check the @umich emails, so I just set the account to automatically forward to my Gmail.

haha, I ate the pizza at Diag a bunch on late nights. It's really not bad, especially when it's fresh (occasionally). Better than the crap NYPD place.

I also say this as a New Yorker who knows good pizza pretty well.
