All you really need is a big pair of boots and an ushanka. You can rock t-shirts and shorts with those.

er doctor, I hope you're ready to step in and provide treatment for hypothermia and/or frostbite.

Preventative measure for dealing with hypothermia: scotch. Repeat as necessary.whirledpeas86 wrote:![]()

I had a flask of this very beverage in my bag during orientation -- it proved extremely useful, especially as I don't believe in drinking jungle juice.thelaststraw05 wrote:Now I know I made the right choice.InvictusFortis wrote:Perfect! If you mentioned this to the people I currently work with they would be likely to say "professionalism? Why start now?"whirledpeas86 wrote:er doctor wrote:I am trying so hard right now to be professional so I am not going to say ANY of the things that crossed my mind when I read this.whirledpeas86 wrote:![]()

Re: Michigan Class of 2014
So it turns out that our house may have an opening for the year after all!
This is our house.
- We are a group of five 3L's guys, (you'd be the 6th member of the house).
- The house is about 12 minutes walking from the Law School.
- It's got a good sized fenced in backyard where we often hold barbeques, a nice porch with a porch swing and a couple rocking chairs where you can sit and lounge as the weather permits, which is longer than you might think. The inside is awesome as well. A couple of our guys have a pretty kick-ass system set up in the common rooms for entertainment. We've got climbing holds put in place by our resident climbing enthusiast. All in all, a fun place to live, filled with a great group of guys.
Sadly, this spot has become open because our roommate wants to spend a semester abroad. But our loss is your potential gain! If you're interested in knowing more, send us a PM and we can tell you more about us and our house!

In case there are any summer starters on this thread, you can now see some of the textbooks we need for summer on Wolverine Access. I check online and they are a whole lot cheaper ($40-50 less per book) on Amazon, as opposed to Barrister Books or the bookstore prices. I got the books for Civ Pro and Torts for $245 including shipping. It was over $300 at other online outlets. Of course, if you bought used it would be cheaper.
Hope this helps someone. 3 weeks until orientation!

Unless you seriously get distracted by others highlighting, buy used. I managed to buy used books for both semesters with fewer than 30 pages written on...and spent like half as much as I would have otherwise. (I actually re-sold first semesters and made $5.)inchristalone wrote:In case there are any summer starters on this thread, you can now see some of the textbooks we need for summer on Wolverine Access. Summer starters--on the to-do list they gave us, it says something about giving them consent to use our ID photos. We don't need to worry about that until we actually get our photos taken, do we? The "If you haven't already done so" is throwing me off...

I am terrible at computery things, so this might just be me, but...where did you find the textbooks? I tried the steps listed on the Admitted Students' Website, but I got as far as Self Service -> Enrollment. It says after that you should click on "My Textbooks," but that does not appear to be an option. I get Enrollment Dates, My Class Schedule, My Weekly Schedule, Add Classes, Drop Classes, Edit a Class, Swap Classes, View My Class Permissions, View My Grades, and View Disenrollment Information. Nothing about textbooks.

Re: Michigan Class of 2014
Go to Wolverine Access -> Student Business -> Class Search/Browse Catalog -> Enter term "Spring/Summer 2011", then subject "LAW" -> Click on the Civ Pro class to see the textbook listed at the bottom -> Do the same for Torts. There are two sections, but both with the same textbooks.Entchen wrote:I am terrible at computery things, so this might just be me, but...where did you find the textbooks? That should do it. So far that's the only place I've found them listed.
