We need to stock up on knitting projects to work on during the combined knitting/study group. I predict all of the class of 2014 will be decked out in handknit hats, socks, and scarves by the end of 1L!

I just got started on knitting a reversible Michigan potholder for Mother's day. She may hate me.

You are assigned automatically, but you can make special requests to change sections.

As for professors, they are determined based entirely upon your section.

Special requests are very special. I've only heard of them being granted because spouses didn't want to be in the same section, child care, commuting schedule, etc. They won't grant just because you want a particular professor or are opposed to early mornings for example. Nor will you know your section until like the week or two before orientation.

I am the worst knitter ever, but can provide snarky entertainment, wool, and an endless supply of baked goods.

I can definitely be in the study/witty comments portion, but I do not have the dexterity for knitting.

The requirements for the group are any one of the following:

1. Knitting ability
2. The ability to make snarky and/or witty comments
3. Baked goods.

I know it's been a while since I've been a college student but shouldn't it read "baked goods OR mixed drinks"? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around alcohol and baked goods.

Oh my god, have you never tried red wine with really chocolate-y brownies?? Soooo good! Can't think of anything else off of the top of my head, but I'm guessing there must be other booze/baked good combos out there!

ETA: Irish or Mexican Coffee!! Goes with dessert and has both booze And caffeine!

Booze and baked goods really do go together, particularly hot boozey drinks. Mulled wine and spice cake. Spiked cider and beignets. White Russians and cookies.

Everyone seems to have skipped over rum cake. It is a baked good AND a booze.

Duh.

I spy a pretty kick ass Class of 2014 at Michigan and I want to be a part of it! Let us all pray for some WL movement with my name on it so I can make my way back up to Ann Arbor in the fall.

On this note, Black Forest Cake. Or proper Christmas pudding. Both are soaked in booze.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
