FYI for all the summers. Make sure your sublet has AC. Contrary to popular belief it gets hot/humid here!

Re: Michigan Class of 2014
Does anyone here know Michigan's policy after submitting a seat deposit. Do I have to withdraw all other applications, as I have one school that I have been accepted at, which I have not withdrawn from. I am also on a few waitlists. If anyone can provide a link or answer that would be great as I know you can not matriculate at another school, but I don't know the policy towards these issues. I am planning on Michigan, I just wanted to know if I have to withdraw.

I think you have to withdraw everywhere else before the second seat deposit.Cubyfan21 wrote:Does anyone here know Michigan's policy after submitting a seat deposit. Actually, if anyone needs a window AC unit let me know. I worked for a mechanical contractor that can get those things for cheap and has a stash of used ones for the techs in attics in the summer. If they have extra used ones (in good condition) they would be super cheap.blowhard wrote:FYI for all the summers. Make sure your sublet has AC. Contrary to popular belief it gets hot/humid here!

Re: Michigan Class of 2014
i just got my letter from mich saying, thanks for the first deposit, and that letter said that for now, it is okay with mich to even have a deposit down elsewhere. i assume that means it would also be okay to be un-withdrawn elsewhere, since that is much less of a commitment than depositing. the letter said that as the summer went on (i think july was referenced), mich would expect you to start making a decision, and would be happy to help you. overall it sounded like a very lenient policy that will work well for undecideds as long as they are upffront about it. you should receive this letter about a week ater you send your first deposit (which is due the 29th i think?). good luck!twelda wrote:I think you have to withdraw everywhere else before the second seat deposit.Cubyfan21 wrote:Does anyone here know Michigan's policy after submitting a seat deposit. Yeah, I think some people put deposits down for multiple schools to see if more financial aid opens up after the deposit deadline. I'm not sure how often the $300 gamble pays off though.Excellence = a Habit wrote:i just got my letter from mich saying, thanks for the first deposit, and that letter said that for now, it is okay with mich to even have a deposit down elsewhere. i assume that means it would also be okay to be un-withdrawn elsewhere, since that is much less of a commitment than depositing. the letter said that as the summer went on (i think july was referenced), mich would expect you to start making a decision, and would be happy to help you. overall it sounded like a very lenient policy that will work well for undecideds as long as they are upffront about it. you should receive this letter about a week ater you send your first deposit (which is due the 29th i think?). good luck!twelda wrote:I think you have to withdraw everywhere else before the second seat deposit.Cubyfan21 wrote:Does anyone here know Michigan's policy after submitting a seat deposit. Re: Michigan Class of 2014
Any summer starters looking for a summer sublet that is only about a 5 minute walk from the law school?
Up to 4 BR all can be subletted individually in a house. $300 a month plus utilities. Parking included, laundry included, quiet area for studying. Court area so you can hang out outside. Nice porch. PM me if you are interested.

Also jumping on the sublet train! --LinkRemoved--. About a ten minute walk from the Law Quad, in the best neighborhood in Ann Arbor (lots of law profs on our street!). Price and dates negotiable, of course. Many congrats to everyone for making the right choice, and feel free to message me if you have any questions about summer start, Ann Arbor, or anything else.

Re: Michigan Class of 2014
Summer starter here-- has anybody (who's deposited) gotten official info about class schedules, books, insurance, etc? I put in my deposit at the end of March, got the nice little "UM-1L" booklet and and acknowledgement of receipt of my undergrad transcript...... but that's it. Surely they have more info for me, right? I was going through all my law school files (apps, acceptance letters, etc) the other day and realized that I got mail about every two weeks from Mich during the cycle, but now that its done, no love? I'm suffering from lit withdrawal...

Hahaha yeah I'm the same way. No lit since the 1L book. Classes were just posted on Wolverine Access though.jswilson27 wrote:Summer starter here-- has anybody (who's deposited) gotten official info about class schedules, books, insurance, etc? So it looks like unless Legal Practice Skills screws us, no Friday classes over the summer?

What's more official than putting down my first seat deposit? Signing up for my Ann Arbor daily Groupon.

That looks pretty cool now that I see it. Do you just show up and say "Look, I bought this on the Internet and now I want my movie ticket"?applepiecrust wrote:Haha, I signed up for Groupon too. I usually try to get others to buy deals for me because I lack a smart phone. I've been doing a lot of LivingSocial meals in DC lately.

it seems that legal practice skills class isn't actually a class, rather, it's an extra credit that they just gift us for legal practice i
