This is true. But I view it as more a testimony to how we are but a blank canvas to be filled with wisdom at Michigan.R.R. Raskolnikov wrote:+1thelaststraw05 wrote:Created my uniqname today.

Re: Michigan Class of 2014
So I just went and checked the list of offices that came to interview at Michigan last year, and there were exactly 11 in New England (10 in Boston, 1 in Hartford). None in northern New England (VT/NH/ME). But I guess that's what the New Hampshire Legal Jobs Fair is for, right? Please?
To compare, there were also 11 from Washington + Oregon (9/2), and 20 from Ohio.

Fortunately I'm targeting Chicago... where there were 32 firms at Early Interview Week.Entchen wrote:So I just went and checked the list of offices that came to interview at Michigan last year, and there were exactly 11 in New England (10 in Boston, 1 in Hartford). I wish I was kidding when I say: I turned this into a spreadsheet, filtered for Chicago, and have started doing research on the firms.AreJay711 wrote:QF Future GunnerEntchen wrote:http://www.law.umich.edu/careers/factsa ... sAlpha.pdftwelda wrote:Where did you find this info?Entchen wrote:So I just went and checked the list of offices that came to interview at Michigan last year, and there were exactly 11 in New England (10 in Boston, 1 in Hartford). Haha.. I'm not doing research on the firms, but for anyone interested I put the list into excel and sorted it for firms and agencies in D.C. (including the IRS, which is listed as "Nationwide"). Exactly 50 out of the 403 employers were from D.C. Not a bad showing.thelaststraw05 wrote:I wish I was kidding when I say: I turned this into a spreadsheet, filtered for Chicago, and have started doing research on the firms.AreJay711 wrote:QF Future GunnerEntchen wrote:

If I have time. (Ha). I will add starting pay, # of associates, # of equity partners, # of non-equity partners, and # of summer associates.

Yeah number of summer associates is the big one. Just trying not to be unemployed. I don't really want to be at a firm 1L summer but money is nice and I'm sure graduating with a job is too.thelaststraw05 wrote:In the spirit of collegiality, here is the list sortable by city and state.Excellence = a Habit wrote: You are all completely blowing me away slash scaring me.

Partner to Associate ratio is also key if you want to stay in the firm for any significant amount of time.
If there are fewer associates, it means a better chance to make partner (but a lower payout if you do).

Good point. I was suprised how much info Michigan actually had but was hidden by the log-in. I was mad using Harvard and Duke's websites for general info beforethelaststraw05 wrote:Truth.AreJay711 wrote:Yeah number of summer associates is the big one. Just trying not to be unemployed. Okay now feel hopelessly behind because I've spent my free time this week playing Portal 2 instead of researching law firms. Maybe I should just withdraw now.
