I'm just pretty far down the waitlist. I've never been there/seen it, but IF I go to UVA and IF I get off the waitlist I don't know why I wouldn't live there.

The Aquatic Fitness Center (AFC) is very nice and there are lanes for lap swimming. The pool itself is very big. I was only there once or twice but it's not too crowded. There are a decent amount of machines and free weights as well as several basketball courts.
There is an awesome looking giant hot tub FYI. Convenience is suspect, you can't walk there really. There are buses that run down near the AFC I'm sure but I'm not sure what they are. It's probably on UVA's transit website.

Is it open early mornings/late at night? And, though you might not want to walk, is it close enough to take a morning/late night jog to?

Edit: Spouse wants to know if law student spouse's are able to go too.

The AFC opens 6am until midnight during the week. Slightly fewer hours at the weekend.

The area around the AFC is usually busy, lots of undergraduate housing there. There's quieter parts on the route between the law school and the AFC. You might not want to jog between the law school and AFC alone in the dark.

Unless you're looking to swim, many of the facilities are available in the North Grounds gym which is very close to the law school. It has similar, though not identical hours.

Spouses of students can join - $90 / 4 months.

Just got the Admitted Student Weekend invite-I'm probably going to the March 18 one. Anyone know of any reason why one is better than the other?

The March 18th one is the better one because there is a track meet in which the sister of yours truly is running..

I went last year, it was a pretty fun, they said the two schedules were almost identical except my weekend had fantastic weather and the other weekend was cloudy. Also, one weekend the 1L's had all just finished a memo or done with the LR competition or something and they were in a partying mood.

Yayy. You should join, but folks aren't talking too much for now. Just discussions here and there about housing e.t.c. but I have a feeling it is about to kick into overdrive though.

The first ASW will be the weekend after the 1L briefs are due and is the weekend of the school-wide beer pong tournament. So raging opportunities will certainly be available.

The second ASW is the weekend of the National Law School Softball Tournament, which by all accounts is pretty much the greatest thing ever and will be filled with raging opportunities.

You can't go wrong either way.

I think I'll be signing up for the second ASW.

I'll be at the April 1st one also, I couldn't get off work for the March 18th one. I'm interested to see the Nat'l LS Softball Tournament I've heard so much about.
