I'm excited as hell to meet you fucks. It's gonna be a great year. Classes are generic. It's your peers that make NU so much fun. Be thrilled to be with them, man.Flips88 wrote:Lol. it's fine that he's the gung ho guy. Looking forward to this. What was the agenda outside of orientation like? I hope next week is just an excuse to have a lot of fun with our new classmates and any 2L/3Ls who want to hang out.bjsesq wrote:I'm excited as hell to meet you fucks. It's gonna be a great year. Orientation is dumb, I thought. Have some drinks, makes some friends, and try to get laid.bdubs wrote:Looking forward to this. What was the agenda outside of orientation like? Jealous of everybody meeting up. I can't come, because my friend has a birthday. Soon enough, I guess.

Re: Northwestern Law Class of 2014
how did the meetup go?
Section 3 as far as I can tell. Does anybody know how we can get the list of books so that we can try to buy them used online? Maybe we have to wait until "book buy" time on Monday.
Just to state the obvious:
Buscom = contracts
Litarb = civpro

Not yet back downtown. Life hates me. But I may do some day-drinking tomorrow if anyone would like to join me.SMA22 wrote:Dear 2Ls and Flips--we are here and loaded. Where are you???

Re: Northwestern Law Class of 2014
Does everyone have 4 classes plus CLR? Everyone I've talked to at other schools have 3 plus the Research and Writing class and make it sound like a 5 class load will be murder.
Also, any rising 2Ls take on the following profs would be appreciated:
Jide Nzelibe for Contracts
James Pfander for CivPro
Elizabeth Glazer for Property (visiting from Hofstra as far as I can tell)
Marshall Shapo for Torts
TYIA

Nzelibe = takeaway slides. Don't bother going to class. You'll see what I mean.

Lemme know who your profs are. I was also section 3, and can probably get you hooked up.Z3RO wrote:how did the meetup go?

Section two here. I like the schedule- my CLR is early, so I'm done early two days a week

Re: Northwestern Law Class of 2014
One reason 5 classes isn't a killer compared to other schools is that our classes are shorter. My brother, a 2L at Michigan, had doctrinal classes that were about 2 hours, compared to our hour and 25 min Th/Fr class. Also our scheduling seems to allow a little more flow (MTW/ThF).
Maybe its a not true to say less in class time = less out of class work, but it makes some sense.
Also, with Nzelibe - really don't go to class? Wouldn't it be better to go but worst case just work on other class stuff during lecture? That's a pretty damning comment about that class.
