Guess I should probably chill out now. :]
I waited until I paid my seat deposit (Sunday), before withdrawing at my other schools. I figured since I had scholarship offers at some of them, I probably owed them an email re: withdrawing... plus, that way, at least I had some official closure. The thing is, I'm still getting financial aid packets from schools I've withdrawn from... guess news between departments doesn't travel fast...DeeCee wrote:Are most of you withdrawing now, or are you just going to let the deadline pass? I have withdrawn from most of my schools.
I've officially withdrawn from W&M, W&L, Wake, and Maryland. I haven't withdrawn from ND simply because you have to print out and mail a form.DeeCee wrote:Are most of you withdrawing now, or are you just going to let the deadline pass? Same here lol. I checked the differentg portals and things to see if there's a record of payment, but there wasn't. Just the confirmation email. Hopefully I'll get my fin aid package soon.beccabea wrote:Did anybody get any kind of "welcome to UNC" email after they sent their seat deposit in? I just got a notification of payment, and I'm like.. thhhankyou're welcome?

Whatever!DeeCee wrote:Materialistic!beccabea wrote:Call me materialistic or whatever, but what I really want is a bumper sticker.
Prob no effect. The reason they spread it out is because not everyone has $350 just laying around in their bank account.jmm736 wrote:For people without scholly (yet) who have paid their deposits, are you paying only the first deposit? Or both 1st and 2nd? I am trying to decide what effect paying both might have on our chances for scholly. On one hand, it could show UNC that we are committed to attending, so, we deserve some money. On the other, it could show that we are commited to attending, so, they don't need to give us $ to get us to attend. I guess the third option is that it would have absolutely no effect....Thoughts?

Nope. Gotta find a roommate first.PDL wrote:Anyone signed a lease on a place yet?
I paid both. They say they will extend more scholly offers after deposits are due, so I just went ahead and paid the $350 total. They have a pretty cheap deposit in my opinion! What about you guys--did you pay both?jmm736 wrote:For people without scholly (yet) who have paid their deposits, are you paying only the first deposit? Or both 1st and 2nd? The Facebook group doesn't start up until after the second deposit due date (yeah, I know.). But they're also doing this roommate referral service thingJDCsoccer7 wrote:I just paid one, I'll probably pay the other next week (after I get paid!). So when do they usually do the facebook group? Because I've been looking at apartments and it will be way less expensive to live with someone else...so i guess I'm in the looking for a roommate boat.
Also, HECK YES on the weather report!
It's a little early, but not creepy. You have to see people and talk to them in person to know if you can be roommates with them......I mean what if the roommate referral svc gives you an asshole of a roommate?beccabea wrote:The Facebook group doesn't start up until after the second deposit due date (yeah, I know.). I, however, will be scoping out potential roommates next Friday. (Yep, that makes me sound a tiny bit creepy. Oh well.)

Yeah I only have been able to make a guest ID so far...something about I already have a password but I have no idea what it is or how to change it.Moral_Midgetry wrote:Anyone else having trouble generating a ONYEN account?
I only said it was creepy because of the word "scoping".. I imagined myself hiding in the bushes and checking people out with one of those submarine looker-around things.DeeCee wrote:It's a little early, but not creepy. Creepy.beccabea wrote:Not to mention that I won't be available to meet anyone from May 22 to June 28 except through Skype.
