Thanks for the tip, I got an additional 10% off the lowest discounted price I could find on a T420.Eugenie Danglars wrote:Yeah, I think so. The student site didn't have that model listed for education pricing, but I was able to get the discount by asking.bdubs wrote:Is it different than the deals you get here:Eugenie Danglars wrote:I just posted this in the computer thread, but I thought you guys might find it useful as well.Just a heads up- I went on the Lenovo site and played around with the X220. I upgraded a few things, and the final price was $1100ish. A chat option popped up, and I decided to ask for an education discount. After working with the customer service rep, she emailed me a quote that I can use to order the tricked out comp for $940
Ask and you shall receive. Also, if you sign up for the newsletter, you get 10% off. Sweet.

I got approved for a place up near Belmont and Lakeshore yesterday so I'll be taking the express bus down Lakeshore to school. I'll probably be moving in somewhere from the 1st-4th...which is less than a month

Looks like a small group of us will be meeting for a beer on Thursday the 14th at 7:00 in Streeterville at Timothy O'Toole's; if any of you care to join us, let me know, and I will add you to the headcount. I think most of you guys are still running around Asia, but the invite is certainly for all.
You guys will all recognize me from my profile picture if you can make it--I'm the cute, furry, 17-pound Blenheim with a great smile; I'll be leaving my dumpy brunette master at home that night
Hope you can make it!

Is anyone looking for housing that may want to try to find shared housing? I've heard it's hard to come by, but it can't hurt to look. I just applied for on-campus housing but have a feeling it's pretty late in the game for that to work out.

You applied for Abbott Hall? I was under the impression that was just for students with families.lawstudento wrote:Is anyone looking for housing that may want to try to find shared housing? I LOL if that dude's friend posted that and then changed his profile pic. That would be a hilarious practical joke. If not, I am sad for our class.Flips88 wrote:LOL at the guy asking about who plays bridge is the fb group.

ITT this thread 2 posters with a combined 11500 posts on an internet forum mock a dude for playing a card game. I mean, I've never played bridge either, but I spend about 2 hours a week playing PS3 games online so I won't judge.

Actually, creepers, my roommate and I are planning to throw a pool party. So at some time in the near future I will invite all of you! And it will be insanely awkward.

Must...finish...masters thesis...
I have a month left and am really struggling to motivate myself to write, especially with law school and a wedding looming ahead.
Other than the fact that if I don't finish it's 30k in loans for a lousy certificate of completion meaning I need to get my ass to the library anyway, do you think Northwestern would care whether I finish my masters or not? Their checklist seems to indicate that they only require official undergrad transcripts. Plus it seems that biology masters degrees are pretty worthless for IP law, and wouldn't my last month be better spent reading Getting to Maybe and going through LEEWs?
Someone please tell me its time to stop kidding myself?

If NU doesn't care, and your first legal employer doesn't care, I think you will.

Sure, but I've never seen a bridge tournament that involves anyone under the age of 60. Also, he posted from his phone, which makes me wonder what was so pressing about the matter that meant it had to be posted asap. Those are actually a good point. There have been a few postings on the fbook page (all caps guy) that make you wonder.Flips88 wrote:Sure, but I've never seen a bridge tournament that involves anyone under the age of 60. Oh. Well that's happened before here so I'm not too concerned, but I don't see how he could have based on that post. I thought he was saying I outted myself as a dude who occasionally plays video games, which is to say as a dude.

Not a big deal. NU tls'ers know each other. And many of us are video game fans. And one of us is an avid WoW player.splitmuch wrote:Oh.
