I'd be happy to attempt to answer any question you may have.javacat wrote:Hi guys!
I didn't want to sift through 40 pages of posts.. but I was wondering if anyone's brought up the housing topic? I know it's still early but us EDers have a lot of time on our hands and not much to think about except upcoming stuff!
Is there a good page where 1Ls, 2Ls etc talk about their housing experiences or give advice? Or is there a page/discussion out there somewhere with general housing info?

Just FYI there's also a housing discussion tab on the class of 2014 FB group as well (although there obviously aren't any 1L's or 2L's.)javacat wrote:Hi guys!

Re: UVA Class of 2014
I applied ED to UVA on 11/12/10. Haven't heard anything, but tonight I missed a call and saw that the area code was from Virginia. I checked my VM and it was from the Dean of UVA.
Based on the posts - this is a good thing right??
UVA is definitely a reach for me at 161/3.88 - I was completely sold when I visited the campus on the 12th. (I submitted my ED paperwork on the spot).
I'm hopeful, but trying not to let myself hope too much.

Yeah, I was really surprised they would be calling today. Its early in PST as I'm in California, but it was about 8PM over there when they called.arism87 wrote:On a Sunday night? Perhaps they are trying to get as much stuff done as possible before the Thanksgiving holiday...

Youre in! did the message say to call them to discuss your app? Congrats! Mind me asking if you are in state?queenlizzie13 wrote:I applied ED to UVA on 11/12/10. You are another example of UVA's extremely formulaic ED process.

No, I am not in state. I'm a Southern California resident. I didn't really listen to the message all that properly as I was too wound up being both excited and nervous, but the Dean said they would call back, so I guess I will know tomorrow.AssumptionRequired wrote:Youre in! did the message say to call them to discuss your app? I actually suspected something was up when your voicemail said that they would call back. As far as I know the U.Va. ones ask you to return the call.queenlizzie13 wrote:Crap guys... Me too, that's why I double-checked the vm, because it was different than everyone else here. However, I should be hearing back something any day now...2014 wrote:I actually suspected something was up when your voicemail said that they would call back. Everyone's fast turnaround time for ED makes me nervous - but there were some that heard later, so that gives me some hope.
Still, I'm expecting a WL, which is basically a rejection at U.VA...
EDIT: Waitlist email today...kind of expected it. Still, disappointed nonetheless...
There's a chance I'll be retaking LSAT in June now...especially if I don't get one of my other top choices (W&M, W&L, GW, or BC)

I received an email today that they received my ED contract, so it looks like my review process begins.

Good luck Atresia! Does anyone think that taking the February LSAT would increase my chances to come of the WL?atresia wrote:queenlizzie13 wrote:Me too, that's why I double-checked the vm, because it was different than everyone else here. However, I should be hearing back something any day now...
