Got the phone call Friday that I am in... I didn't think to ask when I was on the phone because I was busy, but what's the deal with scholly offers? Sent with the admission packet?

I found a 2/1 house to rent for the year! Well, hopefully we can stay there all 3 years. It's a relief getting that out of the way. 8)

Also, FSU sends scholly info in a variety of ways, so you should probably call and ask them directly.

so i just visited fsu and am almost sure this is where i'm going. i know people generally recommend living alone, but undergrad tuition at Emory was not pretty, so i would definitely like to have a roommate! has anyone had luck with the roommate referral thing yet? i read a couple posts already saying fsu hasn't gotten in touch with them. also i visited Polos on Park, Evergreens at Mahan, and Verandas at Southwood today (based on recommendations from students/that sba guide thing on their site), all of which were really nice, but is there anywhere else that you guys have heard good things about?

Okay! Just keep us updated! And good luck with your decision, hopefully you make the right choice! (the right choice being FSU, that is )

So exciting!!
It will be nice to have a little bit of Emory in Tallahassee, but I do think I'll miss Atlanta just a little bit.

awww that's really exciting so many of you are from emory! i graduated a couple years ago (2009) and loved it so much. i don't suppose any of you are girls looking for a roommate?
i'm definitely going to miss atlanta- i've lived here for such a long time but i've only grown to love it in the past four years or so. it's going to be weird starting new elsewhere, but i do like tallahassee a lot.

and yes to all those places being expensive, i think it's about 500 a month if splitting with a roommate which is great, but alone it's about 900-1000. i don't think i've heard of paddock club! where is that/how much roughly/etc?

Can't help you there. I wouldn't mind finding a roommate who is a Miami Hurricanes fan though.

Oh wow! Paddock club is way cheap. I like the floor plan too. I think if I end up at FSU for sure, which I will know by the week's end [my last school's decision is en route], I may try to convince whatever roommate I find to go there. haha.

Ali, I really think you got accepted to UF!! And I know it would be a lot better for you personally. Good luck!

As for the Paddock Club, it is a bit of a trek from the school. It shouldn't be too bad most of the day, but try to avoid going home during rush hour (5-6 pm) if you don't want a 30 minute commute.

Also, I didn't go to Emory, but I have visited Atlanta... once! Does that count?

Does anyone know when section schedules are decided or what a typical schedule looks like? I know UF 1Ls don't have Friday classes -- just curious if FSU is the same.

I don't know, but I am curious, as well. I know at the scholars day, they said Friday is a very relaxed day, and they try not to schedule classes on Friday. However, there are some classes on Friday's.

Has anyone else been contacted by a Professor?

Legal writing on Friday morning is the only one.
