Most of the on-campus housing for grad students through BU is first come first serve, so contact them ASAP.

So for the summer you would just have to take out more in federal loans as indicated in the budget? I hear it's easy to spend a good amount less than 1000 (no biggie if BU pays for it, but for the summer rent), but that was not in reference to BU owned. How much do you pay a month if it's not too personal? I know apartments vary but do you know the average 2 bedroom?

Also, how do BU apartments work? I know that in my current setup, my friends got the lease a while before I came in. I wonder if BU would be different in that you wouldn't be in the hole for your nonexistent roommates rent like in a regular apartment. Around Boston no doubt in my mind I'd find a roommate, but I dont know if BU owned fills up a much.

Also, do you know if BU guarantees you *something* if you have a stipend? I won't be starting my search for a while so that's by I ask. Sorry for all the questions...

You can't take out federal loans for the summer if you don't take classes. You have to either take a class or find a paying job (or sublease).

Correct, but you can take out more than you will spend during the academic year (within the student budget of course) and spend the remainder over the summer. Regardless, I'm looking to minimize cost. If these suites are the cheapest on campus option that's what I'll be doing.

I looked into and contacted both places. 580 commonwealth puts you on a waiting list (non guarenteed spots), and the oprm said their not leasing places yet, but as summer approaches will have a better idea of what's available.

1Br's in BU grad property run $1250-1500, 2 Br's run $1800-2400. Only first and security, and no fee. You have to use BU housing to take advantage of the stipend.

Submitted an inquiry also. Woohoo. This semester is winding down...looks more and more like BU every day.

I think it's time for BU to update the videos on its website. Some of them feature students who graduated 4 years ago. They're a bit outdated. I wish there were more up-to-date videos to keep me entertained until August!

Good example? GULC has a pretty sweet Youtube page. While many videos are largely uninformative, they're well-shot and set to good music. I'm a sucker for pretty pictures set to good tunes. They would get me excited to attend! (http://www.youtube.com/user/GeorgetownLawChannel)

I forgot to bring my receipt too, and I emailed it the Monday after the 3/25 Preview Day. I received my reimbursement check in the mail yesterday here in Denver

They just call them rooms, as opposed to studios, singles, etc.

You are right. All you have to do is pretty much not fail out of school and you keep your scholarship. They don't want to put a fire underneath you since law school is stressful enough as it is.

Does anyone know if BU will write/email to confirm they received your Dean's Cert? If so, how long does it usually take for them to let you know they've received it? Thanks!
