Transfer T2 --> T2

Post by val87 » Fri Feb 14, 2020 6:33 pm

Hey! I'm a 1L at a T2 school in a region I've recently realized I don't want to be in. I moved up here for law school thinking I'd want to move permanently but family circumstances and such have made it so I want to go back to FL where I'm originally from. I've looked at the 509 reports and I think if I do well this semester I have a decent shot at transferring to UF other than that I'm considering transferring to FIU. My current school is ranked lower than UF so I know transferring there would require me to do really well this semester. Is a lateral transfer T2-->T2 easier to make? (If it counts for anything my current school is ranked around 15 spots higher than FIU)

It looks like FIU takes a handful of transfers each year, and some were from other T2s. So yes, it's possible.

If you'll be giving up any form of scholarship at your current school, it's an awful idea.
