How to go about securing LOR's
So I have 3 or 4 professors in mind that I would like to ask for a LOR. I'm really not sure how to go about bringing up the fact that I am transferring or attempting to transfer to a professor. What is the best way to bring that up in an initial email?

Don't beat around the bush. I'm sure you're not the first person to consider it. They'll either be willing to help or won't. Just don't disparage your school or them, and you're fine. Just tell them that you're considering transferring.
