For instance, would two different schools know that I told both they were my number one choice (because I have two number one choices)?
Or say I want to tell another school I am planning on rescinding all other applications. Would they call those schools to confirm?
Thoughts?

Re: Do admissions officers from different schools talk to each other?
I know for first-year admissions some schools definitely communicate with each other, especially if they're in the same region. But, for transfer apps, highly unlikely. It's summer, they're on vacation/reviewing transfer apps/preparing for incoming 1Ls/still doing the waitlist for incoming 1Ls. They have enough on their plate to worry about what some transfer said to another school.Anonymous User wrote:For instance, would two different schools know that I told both they were my number one choice (because I have two number one choices)?

I second that. I find it highly unlikely, and a bit childish (?) for admissions officers to talk with each other when they're trying to poach each other's students. Also I mentioned the name of my Dean during my UCLA interview, and they had no idea who they were.habeas2210 wrote:I know for first-year admissions some schools definitely communicate with each other, especially if they're in the same region.
