T30-40 to UChicago/Stanford?

Post by Anonymous User » Tue May 10, 2016 11:12 pm

Top 15% at T 30-40 Mid-western law school. My guess for the 2nd semester would be within top 10%. 5 years of WE in business consulting and dealt with tech companies.

I know my chances are not great for Stanford, but I always have this West Coast vibe and friends living there. Even if I were to get into UChicago, I WILL move to the Bay Area upon graduation.

dunno about this. anecdotally, top 5 (not top 5%) at t50 was not enough for columbia. (ended up w/ uva).

GL though. . .

Will be tough to get either. The work experience will help but Stanford is really tough to get. Especially if you don't have significant ties or attend a school in the region. At a school in your range that isn't on the West Coast, you'd likely need to be in the top 10 students (if not higher).

UChicago is more attainable but you'll need to get into the top 10%. I wouldn't feel confident outside of the top 5%. But I think top 10% would give you a somewhat realistic chance.

Same thing happened to me. Ended up not transferring. Also got dinged from Stanford. Didn't apply to UChi.
