WUSTL EA Transfer Thread 2016 (Class of 2018)
Decisions were supposed to be given out the first week of April. Has anyone heard anything yet?
Also, from the 509 ABA required disclosures, it seems WUSTL has accepted way fewer transfer students in 2015 than they had in the previous year. Is this a trend that's likely to be the case this year as well?

I think that was because they had such a large 1L class. They had 270 1Ls in 2014, and the year before that was 189. They have 210 this year, so I suspect that they will accept more transfer students than last year.

I applied and haven't heard but to be honest they have been so disorganized throughout this process with my application that its made me not want to go. I always proceed with caution when schools are this disorganized.

I've honestly thought the same thing about my application. The admissions office has been all over the place. I applied last year and didn't even get a denial- I just never heard from them after I got the status checker. I don't think it should affect your decision though if you really want to go there.transfertoT1 wrote:I applied and haven't heard but to be honest they have been so disorganized throughout this process with my application that its made me not want to go. Re: WUSTL EA Transfer Thread 2016 (Class of 2018)
Hey All,
Figured I would give my 2 cents. I am one of the six transfers to WUSTL last year. In terms of the ABA 509, I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. Last year was an anomaly in that the 1L class was much bigger than WUSTL had expected and so they kept the transfer class relatively small. I have talked to administration in the past and they said that they generally like to keep the class close to 220-230. Since last years 1L class was so big, they had an extremely small transfer class. From what I understand the year before there was something in the range of 30-40 transfers.
Additionally, I'd be happy to answer any questions that anyone may have. Just PM me.
Best

Not sure, but it seems pretty unusual that they haven't given out decisions yet. It seems like they would be competing with GW or Vandy for transfer students. Maybe it's dumb to say schools "compete" for transfer students, but they certainly want them so they can have some $$$ coming in. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to WUSTL just because it's taken so long and I have to submit my seat deposit to Vandy next week.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone know when we should expect to hear from them?

If you got into Vandy why would you care about WUSTL? Vandy is higher ranked and will offer you the same opportunities.

I noticed you paid your deposit at Vandy and plan to attend. Completely up to your discretion, but if that is the case, would you be so kind as to withdraw your application to WUSTL to give someone who wants to attend your prospective spot?eyeofvigilence wrote:You're right. SO just FYI they haven't responded to any of us. I don't think you can withdraw if they haven't accepted you.

Yeah I'll withdraw if they accept me, but I still paid like $50 total to send transcripts in and for the CAS report, so I'd at least like to get an answer back.
