Hi everyone, a few questions I want to get out of the way before finals season starts.
Background: I am at a T1, Top 15% after Fall Semester, and hoping for T20.
1. Can I use my same LSAC login from when I first applied to law school? If so, I do not see a place to add or request transcripts from my current law school in CAS - would this only be available after grades come out?
2. I have two professors writing me LORs, but they likely wont be done until May - would that be considered late in the cycle to send in apps?
3. Am I able to submit apps through LSAC even though I do not have final grades and if so, do I need to submit my transcripts from Fall semester?
4. Does the 'letter of good standing' need to be sent directly to the the schools I am applying to from my current law school and if so, should I go to my school's registrar to get one?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Sending in Transfer App Without Final Grades
I think every one of these questions can be answered by looking at the school websites and LSAC.Anonymous User wrote:Hi everyone, a few questions I want to get out of the way before finals season starts.

I'm curious about these two:
1. I have two professors writing me LORs, but they likely wont be done until May - would that be considered late in the cycle to send in apps?
2. do I need to submit my transcripts from Fall semester?

1. You can use the same login. Most schools want the transcript sent directly to them, so look at the websites and see what they want.Bilka wrote:TransferManiac wrote:I think every one of these questions can be answered by looking at the school websites and LSAC.Anonymous User wrote:Hi everyone, a few questions I want to get out of the way before finals season starts.

2. The letters will be late for most of the EA apps, but early for RD apps.
3. Yes, you can submit the apps and then send in your fall transcript separately or can send in a final transcript once you get your spring grades.
4. So far as letters of good standing go, these will be sent directly to the school. At least all of mine were. Look at the schools website and see what they require. I got mine from
The registrar

1. Yes...unless it's been like 10 years or so.
2. May is fine for regular decision transfers (which is very likely what you're doing).
3. Yes, you can send in applications before your final transcript is finished, but you need to actually send the transcript during the application deadline (though schools will give leeway if the transcripts are released after the deadline). Just be sure to have your application done beforehand if that's the case (and also contact them about the issue so they'll be prepared).
4. Yes and yes. Every school I ever applied to needed a physical copy mailed to them. They will typically be sent for free by the registrar, but be sure that they'll be sent on time.
Also note that some schools will want a physical copy of the transcript, too. Some will only take it from LSAC. Be sure to read the fine lines.
