Email states that they're taking "the unusual step of emailing" because we may be facing deadlines.
Edit: They spelled my name way off in the acceptance email, Kind of close based on how its pronounced but way off nonetheless. Emailing them to confirm they meant to send that to me lol
They gave me the option to commit to going without putting down a deposit (subject to misconduct proceedings filed with LSAC if I waive deposit and don't attend). I wonder if this is new? Looking for guidance @Nebby (Yes, I know that is not how this works).
Edit/Update: Just got a second acceptance email. Does this mean I can get two JDs for the price of one????

Just got an email from admissions confirming the admissions email was for me and they sent a second one with the correct info. They also said that the information did not populate correctly before.EncyclopediaOrange wrote: Lol congrats! I'm sure they did... What are your deposit deadline details? Thanks, you too! But my deposit deadlines are May 2 and June 1. I also got the deposit waiver form. Strongly considering using it. I feel like my options to move up any higher from my T4 are pretty limited.

Anyone know what the GPA requirements are to remain admitted? And are they for the whole year, or just the spring semester? I know someone mentioned this in a previous thread, but I can't find it

As far as I know, if you pass all of your classes, you're still in.TransferDC wrote:Anyone know what the GPA requirements are to remain admitted? And are they for the whole year, or just the spring semester? I know someone mentioned this in a previous thread, but I can't find it

Thats what I've been told as well, which is one of the big pluses to the EA program. Great to be walking into spring finals with an acceptance already in hand but still in our best interest to do our best these finals and see if we can move up any higher. Additionally, I believe that I've read for OCI they look at your grades from your previous law school. So I guess we still have much work to do eh?EncyclopediaOrange wrote:As far as I know, if you pass all of your classes, you're still in.TransferDC wrote:Anyone know what the GPA requirements are to remain admitted? you guys think it's stupid as hell to transfer from Washington State to GULC, only to target Washington biglaw? My school doesnt place hardly anyone into biglaw, but I feel like moving to DC just to try and get west coast biglaw is a gamble and a huge risk. thoughts?

Why dont you apply to UCLA or any other West Coast School? If you see UCLA's 509 there are students that transferred from Gtown to UCLA probably seeking more regional opportunities.

Hey everyone--glad to see so many other transfers on here! Is it just me or does everyone have a serious case of the fuck-its after getting their acceptance? We just have to pass our classes, right? Because at this point I'm ready to buy a few beers and celebrate. (only kidding....kind of)
Also, you guys have any idea about housing for next year? I hear it's crazy hard to get on campus housing..anybody know of any neighborhoods close by?

+1. I can't stop looking at housing ads/threads and browsing the admitted students website, despite the fact that I desperately need to learn property in the next two weeks. Praying to the forced curve gods and hoping for biglaw.HipHopAnonymous wrote:Hey everyone--glad to see so many other transfers on here! Do you know if they have an admitted students website/fb page for transfers? I don't wanna re-activating my fb unless I can actually talk to people who are in the same position as me (no offense to the incoming 1L's but we all know how annoying some of us can be).EncyclopediaOrange wrote:+1. And good luck with studying property! Try not to stress out too much, we'll be doing enough of that in the fall.

Use this acceptance to ease exam anxiety, kill your finals, and see if you can transfer higher up

I've been looking at Rosslyn, and it doesn't look too bad in terms of the drive over and the cost/month. Should be about 1,800 a month for a 2BR.
Anyone know what the parking situation is like around GULC? Online it appears that you have to pay $8 just to park at the school (per day). That can't be accurate, right??

Re: Georgetown Transfer 2016 (Class of 2018)
Another random question but my school gives us a card that gives us unlimited rides on the public transportation system throughout the semester for free. (Well not for free but we pay a fee of like $200 at the beginning of the year for it so it pays for itself and some). My school during undergrad also did this so I guess I was spoiled and got used to it. Does anyone know if Georgetown offers a similar perk to their students to help with travel? If not, do they have like a discounted metro pass for students or something? My family lives pretty close to a metro stop out there so I was hoping to just use that to get to Union Station and back but the metro can also be kind of pricey.

As far as I know, Georgetown does not provide public transport cards or discounted rates. They do have shuttle busses, however, which are free.

I've lived in DC for 2 years now you dont need a car here and its going to be hard to find parking in Gtown.
Also look for housing anywhere in either yellow, green, or red line.
Your closest metro station to campus is either union station or Gallery place.
Feel free to pm me if you need help as well!
