USC 2016 ED Transfer
Thought I would start this off. Any movement for anyone other than complete?

Re: USC 2016 ED Transfer
Anybody seen anything other than "complete" yet? With the supposed turnaround/decision time of the beginning of May, I feel like some applications have to be in review by now?

Nothing yet. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't change for a while tbh

Re: USC 2016 ED Transfer
Current transfer at USC here. I applied ED last year and wanted to offer to answer any questions you all might have.
Our transfer class from last year (about 15 students) has done very well - we've been told they will be taking a larger class this coming year. Best of luck to you all!!

That'd be awesome if they did. Does applying ED give you a boost? I'm 15% at TT so not quite good enough, but I'm hoping that I get a little boost cause I did ED.kellbellx wrote:Current transfer at USC here. I applied ED last year and wanted to offer to answer any questions you all might have.

Unless I somehow get into Berkeley, I'll see you there. Perhaps you can show a good 'ol Bay Area boy the ropes?kellbellx wrote:Current transfer at USC here. I applied ED last year and wanted to offer to answer any questions you all might have.

Not very, but decently. I'm at the cusp right now. If I don't get in ED, I'll probably get in for regular decision. Guaranteed A's in 2/5 of my classes (elective and W+R where everything has been graded). Top score on both midterms in other two classes. One class I don't have any grade in, but I'm studying my ass off.eyeofvigilence wrote:Why are you so confident you'll get in?lawstudent2999 wrote:Unless I somehow get into Berkeley, I'll see you there. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but I like my chances. Didn't mean to come off as cocky, though. Apologies.

No, I was just curious if you had already gotten word or something. Good luck.lawstudent2999 wrote:Not very, but decently. I'm at the cusp right now. Re: USC 2016 ED Transfer
My transfer class has students from Southwestern, so don't count yourself out. I was pretty well qualified and got in ED, but I think most decisions are made in the main application pool. Ties to the area and an inclination that you will do well at OCI seem more likely to give a boost from what I've noticed.eyeofvigilence wrote:That'd be awesome if they did. Re: USC 2016 ED Transfer
Hi! So I really want to go to USC and applied ED. But I am wondering what happens if an ED application is deferred -- does it remain binding if/when it turns into an acceptance later? Or if I applied to another school after being deferred, would I be free to go there if accepted? This seems like a question for the admissions office but I doubt they want to field this one right now.kellbellx wrote:Current transfer at USC here. 2nd committee review as well. Don't remember seeing a 1st committee review. Hopefully this is a good thing.
Stats: Tier-4 School if California, Near top 10%. A lot of extracurriculars (a lot of pro-bono).
Fingers crossed, guys. Good luck!

Re: USC 2016 ED Transfer
Yesterday, switched to "In Final Review" in the morning, and "Decision Finalized" in the late afternoon (~3pm pacific). Acceptance email came about an hour after that! Good luck to everybody and hope to see you on campus in the fall

Re: USC 2016 ED Transfer
Never made it past the 2nd review. Deferred. Guess my grades just aren't up to snuff. It's just hard to gauge because these TTTT schools have insane curves and the top GPAs aren't anywhere close to perfect (I think the top was like 3.7). Plus I assume the requirements for Early Transfers are more stringent.
Just gotta kill it on these finals and hope for the best. I'm at the top 13% of my class and I think I need to crack the top 10% to have a chance (top 5% if we're talking about Georgetown or Berkeley).
Congrats to the fellow above me who got in, by the way!
