For background info, I am at a T30 school and am ranked in the top 5. I want to transfer for a variety of reasons, but will be intentionally vague here so as not to identify myself. I have a smaller scholarship to my current school. Goals are still up in the air, but I'm interested in Biglaw or working in a USAO.
I would appreciate any input on one of two options:
1. Transfer into the T14, student loans be damned.
2. Stay at my current school and graduate in December

you graduate this december? Isn't it too late to transfer? Transferring is for 1Ls... you sound like you're a 2L +Anonymous User wrote:For background info, I am at a T30 school and am ranked in the top 5. I wasn't very clear. I meant I would graduate in December of my 3L year, rather than in May. I am a 1L.clshopeful wrote:you graduate this december? Isn't it too late to transfer? Transferring is for 1Ls... you sound like you're a 2L +

What doors do you want to remain open that you are afraid will be closed if you graduate from the T30?

Re: To Transfer or Not, That is the Question
If your primary goal is to work in big law in the region in which your current school is located, then don't transfer. If you want to work in big law in a different region, and if your current scholarship really is small, then go ahead and transfer.
