LORs from LRW?

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Mar 09, 2016 10:19 pm

At a T20, probably just above top 5% and looking to apply to transfer to HlS and CLS. Was waitlisted at HLS last year fwiw.

My only issue is choosing professors for my letters of recommendations. Last semester all 3 of my tenured professors are not really options. 1 is an assistant dean who would not want to help someone transfer and the other two went to this school themselves and have been here for 20+ plus years and have said many negative things about transfers/other schools in the past.

Long story short, I was thinking of having my 2 LRW professors write my recs. I know them both very well, received the top score last semester, and have received all positive feedback from the one this semester and have had lots of on-on-one interaction with both of them. I'm just worried that this will hurt my chances of transferring. Any opinions on this would be much appreciated!

Not a big deal at all, go with the profs who will write the best letters, doesn't really matter what they teach
