HYS from T4
If I'm #1 at a T4 school in California, do I have a shot at HYS? I'm particularly interested in Harvard.

I don't think anyone can tell you for sure. Worth a shot at Harvard and Stanford I guess if you are applying to transfer anyways and don't care bout the app. fee (Yale usually only takes from T20).
Anecdotally, I was #1 at tier 3 last year and got rejected from all three.

Worth a try. But probably not. But I don't know with Stanford. Could depend on how highly they value your California ties.
Gonna need a strong application (i.e. a strong PS for why you want to transfer). Still, it's a long shot. Yale is pretty much an auto no. They don't seem to take many transfers from outside the t14.

Did you end up going anywhere or just staying? And were you near the bottom of T3 or the top, if you don't mind me asking?butlerraider1 wrote:I don't think anyone can tell you for sure. I ended up staying because I didn't get in anywhere I thought would be worth leaving my scholarship and ranking for. My school is towards the middle of the third tier I guess. You can PM me if you want more information. I would be happy to let you know how the process went for me.
