Transferring from Georgetown
Just got my grades back, got a 3.55. Georgetown doesn't rank, but top 1/3 is supposedly 3.43. Do I have a shot at transferring anywhere into the top ten (except for HYS,) and would it be worth it to apply ED to Chicago?

WAY too optimistic for H, even with transfer admissions standards falling a bit recentlyjuliuscasear90 wrote:Enjoy Harvard/Columbia

H almost certainly isn't happening, but you should definitely shoot over apps to NYU and Columbia. Both have very large transfer classes and your numbers make you somewhat competitive.Shirogane wrote:Just got my grades back, got a 3.55. Georgetown doesn't rank, but top 1/3 is supposedly 3.43. You'll probably get into NYU and/or CLS. Most likely out at Harvard but worth a shot.

Any idea of what would give one a good shot at H from GT?

good shot (which I'm interpreting to be >75% chance of success) = top 5%, while top 10% is still a more likely than not admitunfinishedthough wrote:Any idea of what would give one a good shot at H from GT?

I'd say you were more likely to get in that get rejected if you're in the top 10%.(if there's nothing holding you back...like C&F issues)unfinishedthough wrote:Any idea of what would give one a good shot at H from GT?
Top 15% gives you a shot.
Top 20% is possible but likely stretching it. So it would depend on other factors.
