2015 509s are Out
So ABA just released all 2015 ABA 509's... So we now have the most up to date transfer statistics. No huge changes except Northwestern took significantly fewer (and only regional) transfers this time around.

I always plan on looking at these hoping to find something ground breaking, like who are the 16 people who transferred to Utah.
Top 30 Transfers In, if anyone is interested;

All us GULC students are proud that, despite the stiff competition from GW, we won again this year!

Thankfully OCI worked out and i didn't end up transferring... but jesus. Applied to transfer at two schools, above BOTH school's 75% transfer GPA, and didnt get either. Not too bitter cause of how it worked out, but would have likely had a lot less stressful fall.

It also depends what school you're coming from. I was below 50th percentile (much closer to 25th) for CCN and got in from a T20. I highly doubt my LOR was amazing.RaceJudicata wrote:Thankfully OCI worked out and i didn't end up transferring... but jesus. I know how you feel. My GPA was well above CLS's 75% at a T1 school and I didn't get in. Have no idea what I did wrong.RaceJudicata wrote:Thankfully OCI worked out and i didn't end up transferring... but jesus. Things have worked out just fine for me and I'm happy I stayed...but it still bothers me that I got rejected because I wish I knew the reason.

Fair point. T2 school (strong regional though) shooting for T6-10 area. Top 5-10ish% of class. Again, owell... Honestly, thankful that several people in my range were able to transfer.. made my oci a bit more accessible.n1o2c3a4c5h6e7t wrote:It also depends what school you're coming from. Feel the need to add to this lol. I am all set with a job so I'm not too upset anymore but seeing this data definitely brought back some disappointment. People from way worse schools got into schools I got denied from even though I was ranked #1. I understand I'm not entitled to get in anywhere just based on my grades - I must have had a shitty PS or LoR's - but yeah, I just wish I knew why.lawman84 wrote:I know how you feel. Isn't this the biggest blessing in disguise by saving you $100k+? I mean, it's one thing if you struck out, but you didn't. I think you won law school.RaceJudicata wrote:Thankfully OCI worked out and i didn't end up transferring... but jesus. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$NoDayButToday wrote:I'm curious how much longer transfer admissions will continue with such minimal regulation from ABA / notice from USNWR. Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad I was able to transfer, and I'm really glad that option existed. But it's also a little surprising that there hasn't been that much official notice or more data than just the mid-50 percentiles and outgoing school from the 509s. Fifty plus transfers to even a big school is a SIGNIFICANT percentage increase in class size.
Again - not complaining, especially as that's how big my transfer class was - just surprised!

Re: 2015 509s are Out
Last year when they first started posting transfer GPAs on 509s, my first complaint was that a GPA doesn't give you good predictive value at all, because the median at one school can be up to .2 or .3 different, and someone with a 3.6 could be top 10% at one place, and top 33% at another, and the top 10% person would have a lot better shot than the latter.RaceJudicata wrote:Thankfully OCI worked out and i didn't end up transferring... but jesus.
