Hi All,
My info: T4, 3.87 gpa (prob around top 5% or higher). Attempted to transfer to socal T20 but struck out at UCLA; USC didn't make a decision and class is full; and GULC waitlist till death. I had turned down an offer from UCI, but am now wondering if I made the right decision. I received about 80% scholarship at my current school and am on LR, but struck out at OCI.
Wondering if I should start begging UCI to let me transfer now. Is it worth it?

I wouldn't attempt to transfer to UCI unless you could do oci again. Even if you could do oci again, the result is unlikely to differ. I think you may be better off attempting to graduate as high in the class as possible and then looking at a possible fed dist clerkship. This is assuming that your school, like many ttt/tttt schools, sends at least the top students to fed clerkships every year.

Right. Its by no means a guarantee but I think its a better option than being a random transfer at UCI.You'll continue to forge relationships with profs and hopefully get them to make some calls. This is all assuming you go to a somewhat reputable lower tiered school. Even if you get a clerkship, many firms still won't look at you because of your school. What tends to be the outcome for clerkship students from lower ranked schools, at least in my neck of the woods, is working for regional firms.
