GULC WL Poll

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Jul 15, 2015 4:47 pm

Curious to see who is still interested in transferring despite not being able to participate in OCI at GULC.

I wish. Apparently there was a small wave of acceptances on 7/2. Holding out hope for a bigger wave soon because it's getting late...

I would transfer for sure even without OCI because Im a part time student so it doesn't matter right now for me. If you are at a T1 or T2 already then why transfer if you are not getting the benefit of Georgetown?

Two people got in on 7/2: HungJuror and CappucinoLatte (?)

I assume others got in that day as well (lurkers/ppl not on TLS)

I'm also curious as to why people who voted "no" are still on the waitlist. Maybe they just want the satisfaction of knowing they got in to a T14?

I have a feeling we will see some movement tomorrow (fingers crossed).

OP you did not specify that only people on the WL should vote. The "Would you..." question seems to open it up to anyone to answer hypothetically.

Having non-WL people vote was inevitable. I hoped that the thread title I chose would only interest those actually on the GULC waitlist, but there's no way to guarantee that. Nevertheless, it's interesting to see the results thus far.

Is it true that last year only two students were pulled from the waitlist?

Idk but I hope they take more than that this year. Otherwise, the cycle is done since at least two people have already been accepted off the WL.

Assuming they're taking more than 2, today has to be the day they accept more off the WL, right? I mean it's been 3 weeks and next week is the last deadline for all OCI slots. If not today, then we're all SOL and will have to rely strictly on mass mailing.

Last year they accepted people after the OCI deadline.

Crickets.

It seems last year by this time there had been some communication from the Office of Admissions.

Anyway - we wait -- in good company.

Funny how this poll went from the majority responding "yes" to now the majority responding "no"

Also funny that there are apparently 31 + people on the wait list!

they clearly waitlisted tons of people and have admitted very few of them. I don't understand their strategy.

neither do I. If you look at the admitted students fb group its only like 60 people meanwhile last year had 90 people. Maybe they dont want transfers to participate in OCI thats why theyre making it selective this year. There are many rumors that first years complain about transfers taking away their spots so you never know!
