transfer interview
I'm a rising 2L at a T2, and I applied for transfer to a T20 school. The school has scheduled Skype interviews for next week as part of the application process. Does anyone have any experience with this? Specifically, what sorts of questions should I be prepared for? The interview is said to be 15 minutes long.
Thanks for any advice.

1) Why do you want to transfer to X school?
2) What are your plans after graduation?

Re: transfer interview
Not sure which school it's for but if it's UT they just asked me 3 simple questions which took about 2 minutes. It's painless but just have a set of questions to ask them or the interview will be awkwardly short

Re: transfer interview
I had a Skype interview a few months back for a T20 school. The questions they asked were simple. Why law school, why transfer to X, and they targeted some areas to discuss on my resume. I had a list of questions for the school. I did some research on different journals/clinics I would be interested in and targeted my questions around those areas. Good luck.

Re: transfer interview
OP here, thanks everyone who replied. The interview is for UT, and the questions makes sense. I appreciate the heads up about having questions for the interviewer. Is "I intend to practice corporate law in Texas" and acceptable answer to plans after graduation?

Yeah but I would add to it. How can UT help you reach that goal? "I intend to practice corporate law in Texas, and after considerable research, I feel that UT can help me reach that goal. 31% of graduates in 2013 were placed at NLJ 250 firms" Idk if you want to cite numbers but at least be familiar with them. http://www.nationallawjournal.com/id=12 ... 0527123810Anonymous User wrote:OP here, thanks everyone who replied. Re: transfer interview
That will probably be fine. Mine lasted about three minutes in total. If they give you an interview, I think you'd have to really mess up to not get in.Anonymous User wrote:OP here, thanks everyone who replied. The interview is for UT, and the questions makes sense. Re: transfer interview
OP here, is the interview process limited to selected candidates? It was not that long ago that I submitted my application, so I assumed that the interview was something that the school did for every applicant.

Re: transfer interview
No, every applicant doesn't get an interview. I think, though I'm not entirely sure, that it's only the ones who they've essentially already decided to accept.Tygra wrote:OP here, is the interview process limited to selected candidates?
