Skype Interview Advice
Next Thursday I am conducting a Skype interview with the University of Texas. I know I posted on the UT Cycle thread that I created, but I think this thread may receive more action. If anyone who has done a Skype interview with UT or with any other school I would appreciate your advice for preparation and/or your experiences with the interview as in it was basic, investigative, formal, etc. Thanks!

Re: Skype Interview Advice
It'll mostly be basic interview questions (what is your greatest weakness blah blah). But also be prepared for questions about why you want to transfer, why you want to live in Austin, what your plans are upon graduation, and other questions related to law school you'll be able to answer without preparation. At least that's how my interview went.

Re: Skype Interview Advice
The only "real" questions I recall were about:
-A line item on my resume
-A line in my personal statement
-(and I think) they asked about summer job stuff...this was before I had actually started work.
...That took all of two minutes.
The rest was just me asking questions for ~15 minutes. (Hint: have questions ready).
Don't sweat it, its as painless as a skype interview can be, and this is coming from someone who hates skype interviews with a passion.

What type of questions should I be ready to ask? Almost all of the questions that I can think of asking would make me look like I don't know anything about the school, which is untrue.DasEggs wrote:The only "real" questions I recall were about:

Don't worry about looking like you don't know anything about the school, they will not care. If you are really worried about it the ol' "I read on the website X can you tell me more about how that works in practice at the school..."BigDog17 wrote: What type of questions should I be ready to ask? Generic stuff like:
How well to transfers mold into the study body?
How do clinics work with transfers?
How does OCI work (with bidding already have started as of today)?
Who does a transfer contact about trying to secure a clerkship?
Who should I contact to find out what classes I should take?
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Again, don't sweat it. This seems to more a Q&A for your benefit more than theirs at this stage in the game.
