Recommendation letters
My school is very small and my professors refuse to give us recommendation letters because they don't want us to leave. Its very selfish I know but what can I do?
Did anybody apply without sending a recommendation?
Thanks!!!

Re: Recommendation letters
There are some schools (NYU maybe?) that don't require recs. Also, is this just a rumor that you've heard? Or have you asked your profs and this is what they told you?

Re: Recommendation letters
I guess it is more of like a student rumor because some have asked and not gotten it.
Thanks for the replies.

Re: Recommendation letters
I transferred TTTT --> T20 without any recommendation letters. Your 1L GPA and Class Rank are key.

Re: Recommendation letters
Rec letters are completely school specific. As has been said, most schools require them, but some don't. Most T14 want em.

Re: Recommendation letters
If the school wants rec letters but doesn't explicitly state they must be from current LS professors, try a letter from the UG profs who wrote your letters for 1L admission -- Obviously this is less risky the better your grades/class rank is.
