Deposit due but waiting on other schools

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Jul 10, 2014 3:07 pm

I have a deposit & intent to enroll form due by tomorrow at a school, but have yet to hear back from anywhere else I applied. Was wondering if it was unheard of, or exactly how frowned upon it is, to send those in and (potentially) renege if I was accepted at another school. I know I definitely want to transfer, and would happily go to the school at which I was accepted if I did not get accepted elsewhere, but I hate the idea of either 100% committing without hearing back from others or sacrificing my opportunity to attend simply because this school read their applications a week and a half earlier than everywhere else. Realize this is somewhat shaky ground, but am stressed and was hoping you guys could help.

Thanks

ABA says that you can deposit and renege. They can't force you to go there. However, you can't deposit in two places. So if you get accepted at another school and no longer intend to go to school1, you have to withdraw.
