Should I transfer? Cardozo to GULC

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Jul 03, 2014 7:49 am

Background: I'm currently at Cardozo on a full scholarship at sit in the top 15%. I have a 1L SA at a NY firm and they seem pretty keen on having me back next summer. I think the firm would be a great fit for me if I had any desire to remain in New York (which I do not). I'm not built for big city living and the cost of living makes living here even more oppressive. I knew this when I decided to enroll at Cardozo but it was hard to say no to a full ride. I want to end up in either DC or the PNW. I have several screening interviews lined up in both locations from the Patent fair and other fairs within the next couple of months.

Question: Should I transfer?

TYIA

ETA: Excluding YHS, I also applied to every school in the T14. I haven't heard back from any other school as of this post.

You will have an easier time lateraling into one of those markets than trying to bid DC/PNC at GULC OCI, so tough it out at your firm, stay at dozo, and mass-mail PNC/DC and hope you get lucky. A GULC transfer isn't worth the risk for anyone not willing to heavily bid NYC.
