Please vote! Chances at FSU from tier 4?
I recently completed one semester at a tier four in Florida. My GPA was 3.46 on a 2.5 curve but rankings haven't come out yet. I've applied to FSU and am considering throwing an app in to UF and maybe emory. I realize my chances at UF and Emory are not great and was hoping that FSU would accept me so I can at least escape the tier four lack of job prospects upon graduation. What are my chances at Florida State?

FYI Bugsy is a 0L whose advice about transferring should probably not hold much weight (no offense Bugsy).Anonymous User wrote:bugsy33 wrote:100%

Also a 0L, but Emory at sticker sounds like a bad idea either way. Congrats on the grades though!Anonymous User wrote:Ah. Noted, thanks. Frankly, no opinions except those from admissions officers at UF/Emory should hold any weight.Will_McAvoy wrote:FYI Bugsy is a 0L whose advice about transferring should probably not hold much weight (no offense Bugsy).Anonymous User wrote:bugsy33 wrote:100%

You said you've recently completed one semester - keep in mind that most schools won't accept someone for transfer until they've completed the equivalent of a full 1L year and they only accept transfers for fall semester. If you're taking summer classes so you'd be done by fall or I'm misunderstanding your post, then never mind, but I thought I'd raise the point in case.

Thanks for your input. I just called UF and they won't take me until I have completed my 1L. Not sure about Emory, but FSU will consider applicants after one semester. That said, I am taking summer classes, which should count as my second full semester.A. I bet you will get in. You will probably be in the top 10%. I would apply to schools in the top 20.

Emory may grant acceptance based off of first semester grades but the actual transfer is still contingent on not blowing it your second semester.
