Deposit deadline
One of my accepted schools deposit deadline is coming up on July 7(mon) which is next week. Do you guys think it's a good idea to call other schools and let them know about this so they can expedite decision making?

Re: Deposit deadline
non-refundable they could do, though. if that's the case, suck it up, or be sure you want to go there before sending in the deposit =P

Re: Deposit deadline
There are two things i need to do, pay the non-refundable seat deposit by Mon and return a binding decision statement. It says Admission can't guaranteed for applicants who do not return the statement and deposit. So I assume you can lose your seat if you don't return both.FrostedMiniWheats wrote:yea i was gonna say...is it ACTUALLY binding? What are they gonna do if you withdraw? Right but that "binding decision statement" isn't actually legit haha. Even if you got in Early Decision, u can always choose not to attend.Anonymous User wrote: There are two things i need to do, pay the non-refundable seat deposit by Mon and return a binding decision statement. I understand that they told u it was binding blah blah, i'm saying that it literally does not matter cuz there's nothing they can do if you withdraw later. Like what are they gonna do?

this. you need to do what is best for yourself. some ppl on here might say its wrong and you're taking a seat from someone else but screw that. it is every man for himself - cover your ass and always have a plan a, b and c.

Re: Deposit deadline
I have a related question: deadline for a (non-binding, non-refundable) seat deposit of $1,000 is July 7. What's the protocol on calling the school and asking for a little more time to make a decision? I can't imagine that they would revoke the offer because you asked, but would be prepared for them to say "no, we need your answer/money today." Thoughts?

Re: Deposit deadline
GULC extended my deadline by 5 days when I told them that my family and I were trying to gather the funds... if you are legitimately poor/not rich, then just ask for an extension to come up with the cash.k101010 wrote:I have a related question: deadline for a (non-binding, non-refundable) seat deposit of $1,000 is July 7. If you're trying to play the transfer game, you may not be able to fool admissions by your poorly worded proposition
