Georgetown (sticker) v. WUSTL (30k)

Post by choices>chances » Fri Jun 27, 2014 12:25 pm

Ok...so I got accepted to GULC last week. Georgetown was originally one of my top choices, but my bum LSAT score kept me out on the first go and i ended up at WUSTL. I never let go of the dream, and now its in reach. Im still also waitin on 2 T6 schools.

Don't know how else to say this, but this is purely a question of my preferred environment. WUSTL is a great school, and im essentially BigLaw secure already (have Biglaw SA this summer and sitting on 2 offers for next summer). Im extremely grateful and blessed....BUT Im a big city guy and want to get into International Law/Business and eventually politics. I think DC is the best place to be for that...plus I just kind of want a new beginning...didnt do anything crazy to alienate myself here, but I just dont really feel like i fit in. Not to mention the networking opportunities in st. louis are slim to none and few and far in between.

What do you guys think? Is it unconscionably stupid to ditch my scholly and go? Is anyone else in a similar position? Feel free to PM me too.

Are you 30k per year or total at WUSTL? What's the difference in COA at repayment?

nope, 30k total...in other words 10k per year, which is nothing to brag about. COA is esentially +25k if I leave.

If intern/networking opportunities + location is worth 25k to you, then leave.
