Anyone preparing to transfer?

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Apr 15, 2014 3:40 am

Hi guys,
I need your suggestions,
I'm currently attending T4 law school, my rank is top 31% (2.8...@.@) and I'm hoping to transfer to pursue and focus more on "IP/Entertainment Law" but I am not really sure if its realistically possible to do so.

I've made some list of schools that I'm hoping to apply, not yet knowing their expected numbers:

Emory
Cardozo
Brooklyn
Fordham
Pepperdine
Miami
Loyola
Tulane
Southwestern

I am still doing some research on which school to apply to, but my main concern is the location and whether there are chances for me to be accepted
...
any recommendations are appreciated!

I can tell you with certainty that top third from a T4 won't make the cut at Emory or Fordham.

Pursuing true IP or "Entertainment Law" is a struggle from the very top schools. I hate to break your bubble, and congrats on your relative success first semester, but top 31% from a T4 will not get you anywhere worth your while to transfer to. The only exception may be if you are paying sticker and would rather pay sticker in a different geographic region.

Focus on this semester. Destroy finals. If you can make it into the top 5% - 10% then much more promising alternatives begin to open up.
