No, they probably want to see how you did since you only gave them, you know, two grades. Just do well this semester and show them the first two grades weren't a fluke.

Out of curiosity how fast did they respond to your application? I've wondered what real reasoning they would have for sending out acceptances that are contingent on your second semester grades. It seems like they have no real incentive and might as well only extend offers after complete 1L grades are in.

What region and school range are you applying from?

It doesn't mean you're out. Law schools don't turn down transfers with just one semester... after all, if you absolutely crush it second semester you could be very high up in your class, as long as you weren't at the bottom before.

I suspect they don't extend admission on what are essentially unofficial grades, especially since it means you don't currently have any official class rank. Blame your current school for not simply making your 3 year-long courses 6 semester-long courses. How hard is it to have "Contracts I" and "Contracts II," really? Is there any reason to do this beyond the school thinking they're above having usable class rank after 1L fall? And what a way to give prospective 1L summer employers absolutely no information about your students.

They want to discourage transfers by not releasing enough grades for 1-semester transfer, and releasing transcript super late in summer to discourage transfers overall.
