Re: DCNG + LR < HYS (no LR)?
Had a guy top 5% of my class at NU, transferred to Harvard and barely scraped his ass into biglaw (which was in Chicago). I am not saying this is representative, but rather to show that it may not always pay off. If you are at NU and want Chicago biglaw, stay there. I won't comment on other schools because I know shit about them.

Re: DCNG + LR < HYS (no LR)?
Thanks for the response. Would you say that's true as well for DC market? (Presuming not G). I'm asking primarily because I assume NU's in a unique position re Chicago, while all three schools presumably are similar in other markets. (Is that accurate?)

Re: DCNG + LR < HYS (no LR)?
Not sure, to be honest. Unless you are a total school bus fire, top 5% at NU or (presumably) DCG will get you damn near anywhere you want to go. I am not sure what the transfer to H gets you. My suggestion would be to contact some of their transfer students to get an idea of how things went for them. Sorry I can't help more, like I said, I only feel comfortable commenting on NU.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks for the response. Would you say that's true as well for DC market? (Presuming not G). Do you think transferring hurt his chances or it just didn't help him?bjsesq wrote:Had a guy top 5% of my class at NU, transferred to Harvard and barely scraped his ass into biglaw (which was in Chicago). Who knows? He wasn't socially adept, but he didn't make bukkakke jokes in interviews, either. It's impossible for me to tell. Nonetheless, I think his decision was a bad one.iliketurtles123 wrote:Do you think transferring hurt his chances or it just didn't help him?bjsesq wrote:Had a guy top 5% of my class at NU, transferred to Harvard and barely scraped his ass into biglaw (which was in Chicago). Depending on what details someone reveals in asking for advice, yes, they're concerned that someone at their school - admin or fellow students - may figure it out. It's often not very hard to do if you know someone in person, and there are plenty of reasons someone might want to keep that info to themselves.

Some of them do read here, yes. A number of posters have reported having adcomms at their school saying something to them about their posting on TLS. I have no idea how often it happens, but it does happen.CounselorNebby wrote:Admins obviously have nothing better to do than peruse TLS forums.
