Seems like a good chance if only because of Harvard's largish transfer class. Keep it up, you can improve your standing over the spring semester.

Thank you for the reply.

Secondary question is whether it's worth it. Assuming I'm correct in that i'll likely not see much in scholarships, is it worth the extra $$$ and the brand new school?

Will it affect OCI /Law review at all?

Also, any other schools that is worth the extra $$ and potentially new city?

Well, your grades won't factor into LR at all. And as I understand H's LR transfer policy, you're welcome to participate in the write-on when it happens in May. Thus, before you have grades at BU/BC and know if you have any shot at all of getting into H, you would be doing their write-on (possibly at the same time as the BU/BC write-on).

I'd say a transfer into t6 would be worth it, maybe t14. I'm not too familiar with BU/BC's career prospects though or what you are interested in doing.

Don't really know, but I'd guess you'd have to be in the top 5 or so (not top 5%) to be in auto-accept territory for an H transfer. Either way, you're likely to get big law, top shops open up more if you do transfer, but that may or may not be important to you.

Don't let your grades drop this semester though, still only half way there.

This. And the fact that transferring should inspire you to work even harder in order to make it happen. Take whatever you did the last semester, and then kick it up a notch. Get straight As this semester, and your chances of getting into HLS are competitive for sure.

I'm in pretty much the exact same position as OP. Is there anything I can/should be doing besides getting good grades this semester? I know I should be thinking about letters of recommendation from professors, but is there anything else?

A bit of background: I went straight through from undergrad and am not published or anything. Since I don't really have any compelling softs, should I be trying to work on that? (i.e. getting published or something, not that that seems realistic at all...) Any advice would be appreciated.
