Penn v. Georgetown
I'm deciding between Penn and Georgetown as a transfer. I've done the write on competition for Gtown but will not be able to compete in the one for Penn. After law school I'd like to do big law in DC or get a clerkship and then after a few years move south. Mobility is big for me and I already have a lot of ties to DC.
Any thoughts on deciding between Gtown with possible LR vs. Penn without?

I would go with Penn. The reason I say this is because you already have a lot of ties to DC, so why not go to the better LS?decisiontime99 wrote:I'm deciding between Penn and Georgetown as a transfer. Why would you choose GTown? This is an easy choice.

Penn. Gtown takes a LOT of transfers, and my impression is that not all transfers secure biglaw SAs. I think at Penn, the number is much closer to all. Also, Penn will do very well in DC. Obviously, you'll want to look more into this. Ask the admissions people and 3L transfers at the schools. Don't rely on schoolwide data: try to find data on transfers specifically.

Choosing GT over Penn for a "possibility" of law review seems questionable to me.

Penn would have more mobility as it's a better law school and an ivy with better clerkship stats
