Duke vs. Texas

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Jul 05, 2013 3:19 pm

Trying to decide between these two. I know Duke is the higher ranked school. I know Austin is supposed to be an amazing place to live and UT seems to be a highly respected school as well. Having a really tough time deciding. Would be paying sticker at both.

Priorities are:
1.reputation
2. Employablitly (clerkships and big law)
3.location . The city, the school culture and so on. I like music, basketball, and football.

Please respond with any advice or personal experience which may be helpful.

Number 1 and 2 on your list go to Duke easily. I wouldn't take UT unless you really really want to be in Texas, family lives there, etc., and even then I would personally go with Duke (still can get Texas from Duke). I have no personal experience, but looking at employment stats, Duke places much better.

I'm sure you already looked at LST but in case you haven't...

Also, please don't choose based on sports or music.
