Top 1/3 at a school in the ranked in the 70s. Looking to transfer to NY/DC. Any shot at GW, Fordham? Where should I be looking? Strong recs, unique softs (I know, I know, no one cares about transfer softs).

EDIT: Want to work in DA's office. No interest in OCI/BigLaw/firms.

Don't do Fordham.

Students who transfer into Fordham Law School from another law school in the Summer of 2013 are not eligible to participate in the EIW and Resume Advance parts of Fall OCI but are eligible to participate in the Fall Weeks 1-8 and Resume Collect parts of Fall OCI

Honestly, there is not a school in NYC or DC that wuold be worth the transfer. You (very) likely won't get anything from OCI at any of the schools you could get into, and your new school will be way more expensive.

OP here. Thanks for the insight. I already submitted the GW app and am aware that transfers can't do EIW at Fordham. I have no interest in Big Law or any firm job, so OCI in general is not a top concern of mine. Ideally, I'm gunning for one of the NYC borough DA's offices. I figure a school northeast would have better connections/alumni there. In addition to geography, my primary reason for transferring is that I am miserable at current school: the faculty, administration, students, and city all leave much to be desired. I love law school and my internship this summer, but the thought of returning to my current school makes me nauseous.

So to my original question, I am interested in opinions about where I could realistically transfer, not whether I should transfer. Thanks!

I think GW is definitely within reach. Perhaps BU/BC as well?

I am wondering the same...I'm low T2/high T3 top 5.96% and wanted to apply to BU/BC...went to BU undergrad

Yeah, I knew someone out of Memphis that was top 20% or so who got into GW and somehow Houdini'd $$ out of them.

I'm top 1/3 at a T3 and today I got admitted to a T10 (but not T5). With significant $$$. My resume and PS were solid, and I have a compelling background (non-URM), but my LSAT is a complete joke (which I'm told still matters).

You should definitely try.
