LOCI update email flub

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Jun 12, 2013 3:26 pm

I recently sent an email to update my grades for the spring semester and express my continued interest in the school. I Bcc'ed myself to make sure that it went through. On checking the Bcc I found that MS Outlook had managed to mess up the formatting thoroughly. The first three lines which were the Re:, my LSAC account number, school id etc. now ran together in one line instead of on separate lines how I had written it.

I'm worried whether the admissions committee will think I'm a dumbass who doesn't pay attention to detail. Is this something I need to email them about with an explanation or will they assume that MS Outlook has been up to no good as usual?

I wouldn't worry about it.

LMAO, I guess the numbers are all that matter. However, are you the exception or they know that such inconsistencies will generally creep in?

Hey now, but I was president of that club.

My guess is they won't care, either way. They'll probably presume something went wrong, and as long as they can decipher it, I wouldn't bother. There's a chance it may not have been bungled on their end, anyway. If they can't read it, they'll contact you.

Speaking of clubs, I got elected to some positions for the next year. Is that worth mentioning to the committee? It might backfire as a negative since it implies I'll be abandoning those posts to attend another school if I get in.

I wouldn't bother. Other users may disagree, but I don't think it would give you any kind of bump. A named scholarship or something like that is a different conversation, but, secretary of the International Law Club isn't going to do anything for you.
