Would you transfer?
1. at a T30-40 law school
2. finished 1L year
3. Have 1L big law SA at firm ranked 75-150 in U.S.
4. school is in secondary market and SA is in same market
5. top 5% grades after 1 year
6. graded onto law review
7. full ride scholarship at current school (no debt because my partner has a paying job, and where I live is not expensive)
reasons to transfer
1. would be easier to get NYC big law
2. would probably be impossible to get V10 or V20 type job from current school
3. this is only chance at HYS that I will have, which will affect long term options possibly

Re: Would you transfer?
I think you should at least apply and see what your options are. It would be really tough to turn down that full ride with those grades and law review, though. Do you want to stay in the secondary market when you graduate or do you want to get on the NYC grind? What's your comfort level with taking on debt? What are you thinking for long term career goals? Most importantly, how does your spouse feel about it?

Why do you want to work at a V10/V20 firm
Don't just say "exit options" without qualifying that

Re: Would you transfer?
No real reason. Basically my plan was to try to do big law in this regional market. I thought that would be amazing and good quality of life with no debt. Now I'm wondering what if I took on like 100k in debt. I wouldn't do this for lower t14 but maybe CCN and HYS would make it much more appealing. The other side of this is I'm happy here, I really like current firm, and honestly I'm not sure I would like or fit in at V10/20 NYC firm.rad lulz wrote:Why do you want to work at a V10/V20 firm
