Bump. Also, is there advantage to URMs? Top 25% at t14 targeting HYS for academia

No URM bump to my knowledge (it is technically factored in because you are attending a better school or getting a larger scholarship already). Not sure if xferring for academia is worth it (probably giving up LR and if your note does get published it probably won't be in as "prestigious" a journal, though not sure how much this matters) but I'm not really that knowledgeable.
I think top 25% is unlikely. Probably need closer top 10% to have a good shot (and even then SLS/YLS will likely be a crapshoot). There are lots of threads on this and people's results. Use the search.

The searches don't turn up anything.bk187 wrote:No URM bump to my knowledge (it is technically factored in because you are attending a better school or getting a larger scholarship already). They say anything from Top 50% at MVPB to Top 10% for Columbia.
They say anywhere from top 5%-top 33% at H from MVPB.
These are huge distinctions. We're talking 100-200 spots in ranking. If the odds are low, it isn't worth it to go through the process not because of money or time but the awkwardness of it all.

Search for people's actual results. Not the "what does it take" threads.
