Did I make the right call?
I was ranked in the top 15% at a T3 school with a 50% scholarship and I was on law review. I transfered to FSU but my tuition ends up being nearly identical since I get instate tuition here. However, I'm giving up a job that is near my current school aswell as moving out on my own so I will have more bills to pay. I have never been to Tallahassee and have no connections to the area.

Why did you transfer to FSU then?

Why would you transfer from one TTT to another?

I guess the point is FSU isn't a national quality school. So if you have no ties in Florida, do you at least want to live there after you graduate? Still a tough sell but you gotta make the most of it now.jmls1987 wrote:FSU is a top 50 law school. What T3 are you at??

I'm thinking that since OP gets in-state tuition, OP lives in Florida.stillwater wrote:I guess the point is FSU isn't a national quality school. Re: Did I make the right call?
You make it seem like a T50 is just as good as a T14. Outside the T14, you're just fighting over shares of regional markets. There are likely some exceptions to make the rule, but it's unlikely that either UF or FSU feed many grads into NYC/CHI/DC/LA BigLaw. To this end, a T50 is closer to a TTT than it is to a T14. The real gain of attending a T50 like FSU over a TTT/TTTT is a greater alumni network in the target market (Florida) for job-seeking.jmls1987 wrote:FSU is a top 50 law school. What T3 are you at??
I attend a T30; it's nothing to brag about.
OP, I'm not sure what you're looking for with this post. You've already made the transfer. This would have been something to sit down and think about before transferring. Seems like you're fishing for someone to pat you on the head and say you did the right thing. If you think pulling the trigger and transferring was the right call, then own it and be happy/go network in Tallahassee. Assessing a decision with no chance of repeating it seems pointless.Anonymous User wrote:I was ranked in the top 15% at a T3 school with a 50% scholarship and I was on law review. OP, you are no longer a "big fish in a small pond." That can be scary but now you have to deal with it.
You appear to be from Florida? FSU law will take you further in FL than a TTT.
