I don't mind leaving Chicago. What T14's do I have a shot at? No rank yet.

You have a solid shot at UChicago so ED if you know you would accept. If you repeat second semester I would say you have a very good chance at M and NW with a near lock for Gtown.

Depends on what your class rank is. Assuming it's top 5% or better (which I think a 3.85 should be), and you do as well your second semester, you have a shot at all of them. UChicago is probably going to be your best bet in terms of the highest ranked school you have a decent shot it.

Alright cool. Yeah, I think I'm in the top 5%. Say I keep up my GPA, think I have a chance at NYU, Columbia or Duke? I assume HYS are out.

I'd guess you're probably a little low for NYU/CLS (although I think if you can get closer to a 3.9 you'd be more likely to get in), and Duke doesn't really take transfers. But I'd say you have a decent shot at Penn, and a really good shot at NW/Michigan.

I know someone from a Chicago TT that transferred to Duke with a 3.7~ and had no previous ties to Tobacco road. It seems Duke has a more holistic approach since they screen so few applicants. It is anecdotal, but it means Duke is not completely foreclosed. Columbia/NYU will be tough, but if you finish top 1-3% it will be doable. HYS are definitely out, and I would say so are Berkley/VA because they give preference to CA/VA residents respectively.
