Hey guys,
As it currently stands I'm at about a 3.6, just barely outside the top 10% at a T2 in the 70 to 90 range. I've CALI'D a class, as well. Would it be worth it at this point to send in transfer apps of should I focus on moving up in my class ranking and then submit transfer apps after the semester ends?

Re: Transfer advice
I don't think you are likely to get in anywhere EA that will significantly improve job prospects. What are your employment goals? Not many schools do transfer ED/EA. You might be able to get into GW or something similar, but I doubt that would be a great move for you, unless maybe if your T2 is in a very saturated market or a market you don't want to work in.
I think it would be a better idea to do what you can to improve and hope you move within top 10% by the end of the year, and start thinking about letters of rec. If you do that, you may have a chance at the lower T14. If you get close to 5%, I would think your chances would be good at cracking T14.

Thanks for the reply.
My school isn't in an overly saturated market. Things aren't great, but they aren't downright horrible either. I'd probably prefer to stay here, but if I got into a school that drastically improved my chances at BigLaw I'd probably make the move.

Re: Transfer advice
At your current rank (top 10% at a T2), transferring isn't going to help you get into a school where your BigLaw chances increase a lot. If you get into the top 1-5% on next semester's grades, then you can consider it. But for T2's the rule of thumb is usually ~5% for a T14.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks for the reply.
