I'm a 1L at Loyola/Kent/Depaul and am looking for opinions about whether I have a shot at transferring to Northwestern or Chicago through its ED program . GPA is 3.87; I got two A's and two A-'s for first semester. I can get at least two or three great LOR's from professors at my school.
Thanks in advance.

Former kent/loyola/depaul transfer to NU. You have a shot at both. Experience at NU was that top 10% from those schools would get you a shot. Probably better to be closer to top 5% for UC but I would def ED there. If you get in, conventional wisdom says you need not worry anout a drop in grades sespite what tje app says...

Great; thanks. School doesn't rank until after the Spring semester, and is very slow about returning grades, so I won't have a rank when I apply. Think that matters?

In at NU last cycle; Deferred ED at UChi and ding late in RD.
I think you're almost shoe-in for NU with a repeat performance. I'll give you slightly less than a coin toss for ED Chicago, but that's just based off a feeling I can't substantiate. I think most likely Uchi will defer you to RD.
edit: Definitely worth the app fee though! Good luck!!

This. Don't get your hopes up on UChicago but go for it. I've seen Northwestern reach quite far down the rankings at Loyola/Kent/DePaul for students.InnocuousDiatribe wrote:In at NU last cycle; Deferred ED at UChi and ding late in RD.

I was at Loyola/Kent last year and got accepted ED at UChicago with a similar GPA with diversity softs.
