Re: 2012 Transfer OCI Results Thread
Original LS rank: 15-30
Original LS GPA/CR: Top 20%
Transfer School tier: 9-14
Journal: Law Review at old school (and now new school, but that wasn't known during OCI)
OCI Screening Interviews: 12
Job Fairs: 7
Callbacks: 0 from OCI / 5 from job fairs
Callbacks accepted: 4 (one was secondary market, so I cancelled after I got offer)
Offers: 1 so far, 3 pending
Words of Wisdom: Hustle even if you transfer, OCI at new school is not going always work in your favor. I know plenty of fellow transfers with 0 or maybe 1 callback from OCI.

The transfers I interact with at my school have offers, but not sure how transfers at large fared.
I think if you interview well, transferring is the right way to go. You expose yourself to so many more employers. I don't think any firm, except for one, held against me my doing 1L at a lower-ranked school.
Feel free to PM if you have questions.

3 cb dings with 2 outstanding (probably dings). I picked up 5 other cbs in secondary markets. Im actually not devastated about the lack of success, because my wife and I have determined that NYC isnt for us long term. Hopefully one of the other cbs turns into something. NYC prices arent worth it unless you love it here.

Original LS rank: 60s
Original LS GPA/CR: 3.73 - 13/192

Callbacks accepted: 6
Offers: 3 (2 V-50s and 1 V100)
I didn't get any CBs at firms ranked in the V20, I think in part due to my grades being from original school, but I am very happy where I have accepted, and it is probably a better fit for me personality wise anyway. I probably still could have gotten a job at my old school, but options now, and in the future, are so much better at new school.

Re: 2012 Transfer OCI Results Thread
This thread could potentially be misleading for future classes of transfers...
Please notice that the posts are almost all from T6, and not many more.
Also note that people tend to post successful results, not unsuccessful ones.
Ergo,
Future transfers: Unless you're transferring to T6, OCI may not be very kind to you.

Just to be clear I don't think anyone who isn't wealthy should transfer into anything less than a T14 unless they are already paying close to sticker. Its a big gamble and if SA position -> Full time offer doesn't work out your left in a terrible position.
